About 50 representatives from the ship owner, shipyard, financiers, insurer and guests witnessed this momentous occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCSK Longevity\u201d was christened by Miss Ellen KOO, the great granddaughter of the late Mr. C.S. KOO; and daughter of Mr. Kenneth KOO, Group Chairman and CEO of TCC Group.&nbsp;&nbsp; Miss Ellen KOO, the 4th generation of the KOO family since the founding of TCC in 1916, delivered the following speech that marked the official naming of the vessel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI Name you<br>CSK LONGEVITY<br>Your name represents Legacy and Tradition<br>Three generations of strong and sturdy vessels have carried this name \u2013 \u201cLongevity\u201d<br>You are the Fourth of an honoured lineage<br>Go forth, \u201cCSK LONGEVITY\u201d<br>Continue the legacy and tradition which is yours to carry<br>Navigate the Seven Seas safely<br>Carry your life-giving cargoes reliably<br>May \u201cLongevity\u201d be the hallmark of your fortitude and strength\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/wp-content\/themes\/tcc\/assets\/images\/CSKL_naming1.jpg\" alt=\"CSKL naming\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em><\/em><em>Picture (from left to right): Mrs. Helen KOO, Miss Ellen KOO and Mr. Kenneth KOO<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/wp-content\/themes\/tcc\/assets\/images\/CSKL_naming2.jpg\" alt=\"CSKL  naming\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Picture: The naming ceremony of \u201cCSK Longevity\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vessel carries the prefix initials of \u201cCSK\u201d in her name in memory of TCC Group founder, Mr. C.S. KOO. The name \u201cLongevity\u201d, not only reflects the century-old foundation of the TCC Group, it is also the 4th of four generations of vessels carrying this name.&nbsp;&nbsp; The first \u201cLongevity\u201d, a 43,000 deadweight tons handymax bulk carrier \u201cSilver Longevity\u201d, built in 1968, was christened by Mr. C.S. KOO. Subsequent \u201cLongevities\u201d included the 1981 built 69,000 deadweight tons Panamax bulk carrier \u201cLongevity\u201d and the 2001 built 173,000 deadweight tons capesize bulk carrier \u201cLowlands Longevity\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kenneth KOO thanked Imabari shipbuilding team and craftsmanship for their dedicated professionalism and efforts in constructing and delivering timely a modern vessel of very high standard; and believed that \u201cCSK Longevity\u201d will further enhance TCC Group\u2019s competitiveness in the bulk carrier segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cCSK Longevity\u201d is the first newbuild in a series of two that are being built at Imabari shipyard. The sister vessel is scheduled for delivery in mid-2015.
