{"id":594,"date":"2017-11-08T09:57:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-08T09:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/?p=594"},"modified":"2026-02-10T10:34:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T10:34:43","slug":"delivery-of-newbuildings-aframaxes-csk-valiant-csk-endeavour-and-capesize-newcastlemax-bulk-carrier-csk-united","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/en\/news-and-updates\/latest-updates\/delivery-of-newbuildings-aframaxes-csk-valiant-csk-endeavour-and-capesize-newcastlemax-bulk-carrier-csk-united\/","title":{"rendered":"Delivery of newbuildings Aframaxes \u201cCSK Valiant\u201d, \u201cCSK Endeavour\u201d and Capesize (Newcastlemax) Bulk Carrier \u201cCSK United\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>TCC Group is pleased to announce the delivery of three new-built vessels, namely \u201cCSK Valiant\u201d and \u201cCSK Endeavour\u201d, two 114,700 DWT Aframax crude oil carriers from Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and \u201cCSK United\u201d, a 207,600 DWT Capesize (Newcastlemax) bulk carrier from Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., in the second half of 2017 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 18th August 2017, TCC took delivery of Aframax \u201cCSK Valiant\u201d built by Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. at Sasebo Shipyard. \u201cCSK Valiant\u201d was christened by Miss Emma Claire Randall, niece of our Mr. Kenneth Koo, Group Chairman and CEO. Miss Randall called for the vessel \u201ca new generation you are to carry on the legacy of your older sisters\u201d, connoting that \u201cCSK Valiant\u201d is the third of three generations of vessels carrying this name. The first and second \u201cCSK Valiant\u201d were built in 1990 and 2003 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/wp-content\/themes\/tcc\/assets\/images\/news-Naming%20S842.jpg\" alt=\"CSK Valiant naming\" title=\"CSK Valiant naming\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;A month later on 13th September 2017, another Aframax \u201cCSK Endeavour\u201d was delivered to the Group at Namura\u2019s shipyard at Imari, Saga Prefecture, Japan, and was christened by Mrs. Susana Chan, wife of our Mr. Chan Chuk Pui, Non-Executive Director. \u201cCSK Endeavour\u201d carries her name to symbolise time honoured values of determination to strive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/wp-content\/themes\/tcc\/assets\/images\/news-Naming%20S466.jpg\" alt=\"CSK Endeavour naming\" title=\"CSK Endeavour naming\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Together with \u201cKWK Excelsus\u201d and \u201cCSK Vanguard\u201d which were two Aframaxes delivered last year, the Group now owns four Aframaxes built by Namura, embodied the strong strategic alliance and friendship between TCC and Namura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCSK Valiant\u201d and \u201cCSK Endeavour\u201d are chartered to Shell and BP respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The year 2017 also saw the delivery of \u201cCSK United\u201d, a Capesize (Newcastlemax) bulk carrier at Imabari Shipyard on 29th August. The Group was honoured to have Mrs. Tamiko Onaka, wife of Mr. Koichi Onaka, Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited to christen and bless \u201cCSK United\u201d, a name representing unity, harmony and solidarity. TCC is also expected to take delivery of a sister bulk carrier from Imabari\u2019s yard in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tccfleet.com\/wp-content\/themes\/tcc\/assets\/images\/news-csun-naming.jpg\" alt=\"CSK United naming\" title=\"CSK United naming\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cCSK United\u201d is chartered to NS United for a ten year time charter. The long term time charter celebrates a long friendship of almost six decades between TCC and NS United, throughout which period the parties have witnessed and played a role in the growth and prosperity of each other. \u201cCSK United\u201d bears testament to the strength and commitment of the parties (as business associates and friends) who continue to dedicate their efforts to the safe and reliable transport of seaborne cargo to valuable customers around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this year of TCC Group\u2019s 100th anniversary, the delivery of the three new vessels marks an important milestone of the Group\u2019s fleet renewal program.
